Dhaka will run air pollution free electric bus: Matlub Ahmad

This will be the first electric bus in the capital. So that there will be no need for any kind of fuel consumption. There will be a charge station to charge the battery. The bus is being brought at an affordable cost by Kar Bahadur Abdul Matlub Ahmad, President of Bamar, former President of FBCCI, President of Bangladesh India Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Chairman of Nital-Niloy Group.

On the second day of Bamar International Summit held in New Delhi on the 23rd and 24th, an agreement was signed with Bamar President Abdul Matlub Ahmad for the import of these buses with JBM Company, the largest Indian bus manufacturer.

According to the agreement, initially two bus companies with 52 seats will provide. One of them is free. There will be a charge station in Bangladesh for this air pollution free electric bus. The sky of the capital will be air pollution free and environment friendly.

During a visit to the bus factory in Haryana on March 24, officials said they make 10,000 buses a year. They have offices in 35 countries around the world. Bus owners are now leaning towards pollution-free buses who has no extra trouble. With an area of about 75 acres, this bus manufacturing factory employs 60,000 manpower.

According to the agreement, this bus will be seen in Dhaka by next June. Bamar Secretary General Deen Islam was present at the signing ceremony.

JMB Company is interested in joint venture in Bangladesh which is a great good news for Bangladesh and Bangladesh’s great success in attending the Akma’s Summit.

At present about 7,000 public transports are operating in the capital owned by 120 companies. Out of these public transports, only 306 buses run on CNG. The rest of the buses run on diesel. As a result, the constant black smoke emitted from vehicles causes environmental catastrophe. In addition, according to the BRTC registration, there are more than 11 lakh vehicles, which constantly emit carbon.

In the case of electric buses, traveling to Kolkata is not new. The West Bengal Transport Authority, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, started adding electric buses in 2019. The buses are manufactured all over India.
