India wants to strengthen relationship with Bangladesh

In order to strengthen the relationship with Bangladesh High Commission of India (HCI), Dhaka organized a seminar today on 25th February, 2020 at Hotel Westin. This seminar jointly organized with India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (IBCCI) on the theme of “Scope of enhancing Indo-Bangla Bilateral Trade in light of Indian National Budget 2020”.

This seminar was attended by large participants including various Chambers of Commerce & Industry think-tanks and business heads of multinational companies based in Bangladesh. Hon’ble High Commissioner of India, Smt. Riva Ganguly Das, Deputy High Commissioner of India, Shri Bishwadip, Commercial Representative of the High Commission of India, Dr. Pramyesh Basall, Country Head of State Bank of India, Dr. Prakash Chand Saboo, President of India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Abdul Matlub Ahmed, Managing Director of Marcio Bangladesh Ltd, Mr. Ashish Goupal, Country Head of Mahindra & Mahindra, Mr. Robin Kumar Das were presented and shared their valuable speech.

Matlub Ahmed, President, India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce said, “India and Bangladesh has crossed USD 10 billion mark in 2019 and as the voice of industry. India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry will further strive for increasing the trade figures specially exports from Bangladesh and investment from India for the year 2020.”

“India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce interaction covered wide areas of trade, business and connectivity between Bangladesh and India.”

Smt. Riva Ganguly Das, Hon’ble High Commissioner of India said, “This event will open up more business and trade opportunities between India and Bangladesh. It will be act as a useful platform for encouraging productive discussion,”

Shri Bishwadip Dey, Deputy High Commissioner of India said, “India Bangladesh proximity is an opportunity waiting to be explored and we should strive to tap the full potential of this mutually beneficial partnership.”

Dr Prakash Chand Saboo, Country Head of State Bank of India said, “Indian National Budget 2020 will boost the India-Bangladesh trade for the financial year 2020-2021.”

Ashish Goupal, Managing Director, Marico Bangladesh Ltd said, “Bangladesh the new Asian tiger in the making that’s why Bangladesh has become international focus of trade and economic growth.”
