Shakib shock for back to back losses

Lastnewsbd, 24th January, Dhaka: Sylhet put on a competitive total of 158/8 in 20 overs after electing to bat first. Skipper David Warner carried on his form into this match. The Aussie, batting at no.4 slot, top-scored with 43-ball 63 runs including 8 fours and a six. Liton Das looked impressive for his quickfire 27 off 14 but lost his wicket away to Shakib Al Hasan. Sabbir Rahman made 11 in his second consecutive match as an opener. Jaker Ali’s cameo 18-ball 25 helped Sixers get over 150 after the host side stumbled to 86/5. Ali and Warner added 63 runs to lift Sylhet. Shakib bagged two wickets, including one of Warner. South African recruit Andrew Birch leaked 42 runs but did pick 3 wickets, one of them had Taskin Ahmed getting hit wicket out. Dhaka rattled at the start of innings when they lost Mizanur Rahman, Sunil Narine and Rony Talukdar. Captain Shakib was the key in 75-run fourth-wicket partnership with Afghan batsman Darwish Rasooli. Rasooli made 19 runs in his first game. Dhaka Dynamites have notched their fifth victory of BPL 2019 as they hand Sylhet Sixers a six-wicket victory in match no.19 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. The Dynamites tasted their first defeat in the previous match against Rajshahi Kings. The one-time winners are still topping the points table (10 points from 6 matches). Shakib had a quiet BPL with the bat in hand until he reached his fifty in 30 deliveries. He and Andre Russell chased down 159 runs with three overs to spare. Shakib remained unbeaten on 61* off 41 (8 fours and 2 sixes) while, Russell smashed 4 sixes and 2 fours in his 21-ball 40*.
