Within laws Warner playing as right handed batsman: MCC

Lastnewsbd, 24th January, Dhaka: Rangpur Rider’s coach Tom Moody appreciating Warner’s unruly batting said, “I’d suggest to others that if they want to bat the other side, they’ll have to do a hell of a lot of practice to get it right, because it’s not easy.” “The Laws do not state that a batsman can bat only in one way and, from the footage seen, it seems clear that Warner made it obvious that he was changing to batting right-handed. The bowler, Chris Gayle, altered the field accordingly and everyone seemed to know what was happening,” MCC also said. Warner would be available for the next two matches against Dhaka Dynamites and Rangpur and then would be returning to Australia owing to an elbow injury. English cricketer Jason Roy is slated to replace him for the remaining matches.

David Warner captaining Sylhet Sixers is forced to make an early exit from BPL for an elbow injury. The 32 year old, during Sixers’ last match against Rangpur Riders, smacked his maiden BPL half century to lead his team to a 27 runs victory. Inquisitively enough, during the 19th over of the match, Warner smacked Chris Gayle for 6,4 and another in consecutive deliveries taking a right hander grip. The law makers of cricket, Maryleborne Cricket Club tweaked that the former Australian vice-captain’s changing the grip was within laws of the game. “MCC has reviewed the footage of David Warner switching to batting right-handed in the Bangladesh Premier League match yesterday and feels that his actions were within the Laws of Cricket,” the MCC spokesman said as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
