Winter session broadcast policy pass: Information Minister

Lastnewsbd, 21st November, Dhaka: Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu has said that the broadcasting policy will be passed in the winter session of the Jatiya Sangsad. He said this in the inaugural speech of a rally organized by the Broadcast Producers Association (BPA) on Tuesday (21st November) in front of the National Press Club on the occasion of World Television Day. The minister said there is a framework needed to protect the rights and media rights described in the constitution. For this, we decided to form the Broadcast Policy Act and a Commission. Regardless of the control of media, so the word regulatory has been omitted from the policy. He said, hopefully this policy will be passed in the upcoming Winter Session of the Jatiya Sangsad. Broadcasting policies will play an important role in protecting the freedom of the campaign, to keep the media free of communalism, falsehood and sky culture, to overcome the anxiety of media workers and to ensure media protection. A draft of broadcasting policy has already been prepared, the information minister said, if there is any objection, you will be able to give opinion within the next two months. We will introduce the first policy in the cabinet, then it will be raised in Parliament. State’s responsibility to develop and protect broadcast, we must fulfill our responsibility.
