After MV Green Line collision Cargo trawler sinks

Lastnewsbd, 22nd April, Dhaka: Barisal river police sub-inspector Shafiqul Islam said that all the passengers and crew members of both the vessels have been rescued. The MV Green Line-2 was carrying around 600 passengers on board and the cargo trawler six. The trawler, which was heading towards Dhaka from Barisal, collided head on with the MV Green Line-2 while crossing eroding Charbaria area, said a passenger of the MV Green Line-2. The collision damaged the MV Green Line-2’s bottom partially. Barisal port official Mostafizur Rahman told Prothom Alo that a rescue ship is being sent to Barisal to recover the MV Green Line-2.
A sand-laden cargo trawler sank after colliding with a speedy vessel in the Kirtankhola River in Barisal Sadar upazila on Saturday. The Dhaka-bound MV Green Line-2, which was damaged after the collision, has been taken near the riverbank in Charbaria. However, no casualties or injuries were reported immediately.
