Schoolboy’s invention can control a big fire!

A 17-year-old schoolboy at Bhandaria upazial has invented an automated firefighting device, which he claims, can control a big fire in any establishment at three stages.
Sabbir Khan, a class XII student of Amanullah Higher Secondary School at Radhanagar village in Bhandaria upazila, demonstrated his ‘Auto Fire Controller’ in a whiz kid hunt and secured the first place in the district and the second place in Barisal division.
He was born to poor parents –- Alamgir Khan and Shahida Begum -– of Laksmipura village in Bhandaria upazila. Alamgir Khan runs a small business at the village.
Describing the mechanism of the ‘Auto Fire Controller’, the budding scientist said he used electrical switches made of mercury, red bulb, mike, electrical motor, cylinders of dry-bromo- chlorofluromethane gas and battery.
Besides, temperature-resistant celluloid wires and mobile phone was used to create the device, he said.
The red light and the alarm sound of the device will automatically be switched on when the temperature of the building will rise to 50-60 degree Celsius. This will enable people to evacuate the building in time.
If the temperature continues to rise and cross 80 degree Celsius, the second switch of the device will automatically be turned on and it will cause the motor to revolve and open up the gas cylinder.
Instead of carbon-dioxide which is harmful to human, the devices will use dry-bromo-chlorofluromethane to douse the fire, said Sabbir.
If the temperature rises further and crosses 100 degree Celsius, the third switch will be turned on automatically at the control room and it will make a phone call to the nearby Fire Service station through the mobile phone automatically.
The device needs to be placed in a room in the building that will be called the control room. If, unfortunately, the fire breaks out at the control room, a mercury switch will be turned on automatically that will release carbon-dioxide gas from a cylinder to douse the fire.
