Bus driver punished due to accident

Lastnewsbd, 4th January, Dhaka: Jarina Begum, mother of victim Nahid Parveen Poly, filed the case against bus driver Muhammad Junayed with Hatirjheel Police Station on Wednesday morning, said Abu Fazlul Karim, officer-in-charge of the police station. Earlier on Tuesday, garment workers and locals went on a rampage following the death of two female RMG workers, torching one bus and damaging around 35-40 vehicles. A Gazipur-bound bus of ‘Suprabhat Paribahan’ hit Meem Akhter, 13, and Nahid Parveen Poly, 19, workers of MH Garments Factory, while they were crossing the road near Abul Hotel around 1:30pm. Meem died on the spot while Parveen died after she was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital. Police seized the bus and arrested the driver, he added. A case was filed on Wednesday in the connection with the death of two female garment workers in a road accident in the city’s Malibagh Chowdhurypara area on Tuesday.
