JAAGO foundation Inaugurate “Hole in the wall”



Lastnewsbd, 10th December, Dhaka: KrisEnergy and JAAGO Foundation have long ties and close association since 2014. KrisEnergy has entered into partnership with JAAGO Foundation to support the education of children from underprivileged communities across Bangladesh. This time KrisEnergey has come forward to work together with JAAGO Foundation to provide facilities like access to internet and self-learning program for the local kids of korail slum through the project called “Hole in the Wall”.  SugataMitra, is the Inventor of hole in the wall which inspired our Founder Mr.KorviRakshand to start this project in our Rayer Bazar Branch. This time KrisEnergey and JAAGO Foundation will work together to provide these same facilities to the local kids of korail slum.

KrisEnergy is an independent oil exploration and extracting company in Southeast Asia. At present KrisEnergy supplies on a daily average, 100 million cubic feet gas and 200 barrel condensate natural-gas on grid from Bangora gas field. Whereas, JAAGO Foundation began its journey in 2007 as a team of young Bangladeshi activities dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty by means of primary education. Together, the two organizations are determined to create a brighter and healthier future for the underprivileged kids.

The inauguration ceremony of this “Hole in the wall” was held on the 8th of December 2016. It was attended by Mr. Edwin Bowles, General Manager of KrisEnergy Bangladesh along with KorviRakshand, Founder, JAAGO Foundation. Some of High officials from KrisEnergy and Senior Managers of JAAGO Foundation were also present with them.

By providing children with education we help save them from the clutches of poverty, crime and drugs and helplessness. Knowledge and skills impact not only life’s reward but self-esteem. I hope this innovative ICT intervention will provide effective educational and digital learning opportunities to the local slum kids and will make them able to develop into better people.”- Edwin Bowles, General Manager of KrisEnergy.

KorviRakshand, Founder of JAAGO Foundation has said that “World today cannot run without Internet. The project “Hole in the Wall” will be making internet available to the thousands of the kids from underprivileged community of the Karail slum and also will be giving them the opportunity of experiencing educational games and informative animations. I would like to show my humble gratitude to KrisEnergy for being with us in the journey of creating access to internet and self-learning program for the kids from impoverished background.

I hope KrisEnergy will always be with us and help the kids from underprivileged community to be enlightened with the access to information.”
